The building has never been renovated to serve as a senior center. Additional funding for this project will allow the City to address major safety concerns posed by the over 60-year-old facility’s deteriorating condition. A request from the Department of Aging to approve an additional $300,000 grant to Baltimore City to be used to support the Harford Senior Center (4920 Harford Road) renovation project.A request from the Maryland State Library Agency to approve a $200,000 grant under its County Library Capital Project Grant Program to construct a new modern 33,068 SF Glen Burnie Library and a 7,700 SF Archeology and Cultural Resources facility (Item 12.1 of the Secretary’s Agenda). A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $193,500 from the Program Open Space funding allocated to Allegany County to construct a new park dedicated to coal miners in Frostburg (Item 1A of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda).The BPW considered and approved the following requests and recommendations at its meeting on June 21, 2023:
